Dear RSU 87 families,
We are writing to express our sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for your generous support and participation in our recent food drive. Your kindness and commitment to helping others have made a meaningful difference in the lives of families in our community, and we could not be more thankful for your involvement. Thanks to your donations, we were able to collect over 2500 items, which will go directly to those in need during the holiday season. This is a true testament to the compassion and generosity that defines our school community. Whether you contributed food or volunteered your time, your efforts have made a significant impact. In a time when so many are facing challenges, the kindness you have shown not only provides support but also sends a powerful message of hope, community, and care. You have helped make the holidays a little brighter for those who need it most, and we are so proud to be part of such a wonderful community. Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful holiday season.
With deepest appreciation,
Ashley Exley & Stephanie Hurd

Picture retake day will be on Friday, November 8th!
Happy November everyone!! We had a blast exploring the topic of curiosity last month. November's Habit of Learning is: Social Skills!
Stargazing education event!
Three of our GT art students had a trip to Caravel to meet and learn from Sarah Terrell, a local artist who mostly works in painting. She shared with the students how she creates her ghost ornaments for this time of year. She mentioned how mixing complementary colors and light and shade could create more depth in a painting. Then our students were asked to create their own ornaments with their own interpretations!

On Friday we had our first Learners Are Leaders assembly where we celebrated and highlighted student achievements! Teachers gave shoutouts to students for their amazing accomplishments so far this school year and each teacher also chose one student from their class that displays what it means to be a curious learner! These are some of our curiosity award winners in this photo! Stay tuned for November's habit of learning!
Spirit week is next week!
A huge thank you to our Boy Scouts for decorating the front of our school and making it look fantastic!
There will be a Trunk or Treat on October 19th from 4-6pm! If you would like to sign up to do a trunk, please email Melissa Boyan at, melissaboyan80@gmail.com. We would like all sign ups to be confirmed by Wednesday, October 16th.
We will now be doing monthly Learners Are Leaders Assemblies to highlight and celebrate our students! Each month we will focus on a habit of learning and each teacher will bring forward a student that displays this habit to be celebrated. We will also do other shoutouts for students who have met goals and made other accomplishments throughout the month!
October's Habit of Learning is Curiosity!
